Volcano Vaporizers
So, what is the skinny on the Volcano Vaporizer? It is the highest tech, coolest looking, and most functional of all of the herbal vaporizers on the market today. I have used many of the vaporizers on the market today and from days gone by. The VaporBrothers, Vapor Warez, Vapor Doc, Vapie, BC Vaporizer and some that I can't even remember. Everyone seemed to have their own take on how to build a vaporizer. After all, many of these vaporizers are home-grown products that have been dreamt up in people's minds and built in their garages. Many of them are still proven designs and work well for many years. I still have a VaporBrothers vaporizer that works like a charm. The Volcano Vaporizer however is in a league of its own. Vaporizer Design
Vaporizers work in a number of different ways, but just about all of them work off the principle of convection heating. In simple terms a heating element alows hot air to be drawn over the tobacco or herbs, heating them to a point where vaporization occurs. This is the basic principal behind heating and cooling in many facets of our lives. Today much of the arguments that exist are about what kind of heating element is the "best" for vaporization. Many people believe that using a metal heating element is bad for your health or that a ceramic heating element is better. I am not a scientist so I really can't say if one heating element is better for your health than another. I can tell you that I have tried all of them and I really can't tell the difference.
How is the Volcano Vaporizer Different?
How is the Volcano Vaporizer different from all other herbal vaporizers? Well, if you can't see that it is different then maybe you should stop reading now. For starters, it is shaped lke a...Volcano! Shocking isn't it? Many box-type vaporizers like the original VaporBrothers vapporizer use a tube with a receptacle for the herbs making them two part units. The Volcano is also a two-piece design, but the people at Storz-Bickel have done things a little differently. Using a box-type vaporizer takes practice. Drawing speed makes a difference in how much heat the herbs are subjected to. This in turn means that sometimes too much heat can be created and thus smoke. The Volcano takes all of the guesswork out of the vaporization for you. Digital control makes sure that your tobacco or herbs are vaporized at the proper temperature and that all of the vapor is captured using an ingenious bag design. Basically it is a sport bottle top with a turkey bag attached. The vapor will last in these bags for a while, but fresh is always best in my experience.
